Fiare to supply a new platform for British Friday-Ad

Fiare will supply its platform for classified advertisements FiareAds to Friday-Ad, one of Britain’s leading operators within classified advertising. The launch of the new platform on wightbay.com, a classified website dedicated to the Isle of Wight, is scheduled for early autumn 2010.

The wightbay.com service is remarkably popular in the Isle of Wight: well over half of the population of the island uses the service every week. Wightbay.com is part of Friday-Ad which has more than 70 websites mainly specializing in classified and recruitment advertising that generate over 8.5 million visits and more than 70 million page impressions every month.

”The agreement to supply FiareAds to wightbay.com is an important international breakthrough for Fiare. The classified advertising market in Britain is one of the biggest in Europe, and this deal opens up new interesting business opportunities for us”, Hannu Kytölä, Managing Director of Fiare.

”We were looking for a modern and versatile software platform for our extremely popular and fast growing classified website wightbay.com. FiareAds offers flexibility and a proven ability to handle large numbers of advertisements and visitors. Furthermore, FiareAds enables us to introduce online auctions, which contributed to the decision to select it as the new platform for wightbay.com”, says Rob Paterson, Managing Director of Friday-Ad.

FiareAds is a proprietary platform for classified advertisements and auctions designed and developed by Fiare. The platform’s reliability and flexibility together with its built-in business models enable competitive online business operations.  Furthermore, the layout of the classified ads website can be customized to reflect the customer’s corporate identity.

Services based on the FiareAds platform include for example Nettiauto.com, the most popular vehicle market place in Finland (owned by Otavamedia Ltd), the classified ads service Arena.fi (a joint venture owned by eight Finnish regional newspaper publishers), Suomi24.fi Tori, a site for private persons to sell, buy or recycle (owned by the search company Eniro and the magazine publisher Aller), as well as Bilgaraget.se, a newly launched Swedish online marketplace for used cars.
